Why I Started Collecting Baseball Cards: My Journey

I started collecting baseball cards back in 2009, and the first cards that really got me hooked were of David Ortiz, Derek Jeter, and Ryan Howard. They weren’t just cards to me—they were a way to connect with the players I admired and the sport I loved. My collection grew when my dad and uncles gave me some of their own cards. I couldn’t have been more grateful; knowing that these generational cards were being passed down to me made collecting feel meaningful from the start.

Today, I collect both for the value of the cards and the players I enjoy watching. What I love most about collecting now is organizing my collection and learning the value of each card. I might start selling and trading. Each card I have tells a story in the card itself, and how I got it.Collecting baseball cards has been a journey of passion, learning, and connection. It’s more than just owning cards—it’s about preserving a piece of sports history while enjoying the process of discovery.

Collecting baseball cards is more than just owning them -it’s about the thrill of finding the ones you love, organizing them, and learning their value. Each card tells a story, whether it’s a player you admire or a rare piece that’s hard to find, and that’s what keeps the hobby exciting year after year.
